How to stay up to date or rew changelog filter
Dec 18th 2013, 11:55
I just updated the changelog functions. Now it is possible to filter the changes over a country. That small function allows you to keep up to date over scenery actions in that part of the world, where you fly.
When you go to the changelog you will find a country selection on top of the page. After choosing a country you are redirected to the site with the active filter.
If you are just flying in the USA and Australia you should filter the changelog to that countries. You can bookmark those URLs for this example it would be:
When you watch the changelog there are two possible actions:
- Update: When a scenery is updated the date in the name of the link is been changed. The shown date is always the last update field of the scenery. To see what happend you should check the link. At the x-plane.org page the changes can be found inside the descriptions or maybe also will recognice what changed with the availiable screenshots there.
- Added: When a new scenery is added.
On that way you can be up to date what is happening in your favorite country.

I just added all the runways from the apt.dat file from X-Plane. At all there are 33.927 runway definitions in that file. I think quite a lot.
The next steps will be to show the runway information the same way like the links. When you know what runway length your plane needs you are able to choose your departure and arrival airport more easy.
But for the first step you get the runway information just at the detail pages of the airport.
Default filter changed

Just changed the default filter for the country airport link lists.
Now by default just the airport with links are shown. If you want to have an overview with all airports you need to click on the filter.
But don't worry all URLs will stay and work, just the first default view has changed. So if you have set a link it should still work.

I just changed the titles of the links to the x-plane.org site. Now there is no more information about OSX or not and the supported X-Plane versions. Instead of that the official title is used.
x-plane.fr sceneries added
Dec 6th 2013, 13:45
Today I added a lot of sceneries for France. Source is the x-plane.fr site. So one more local community with sceneries.
The more I add different sources the more I know how important it is to have one directory which is collecting all different sources.
After I added the links there are 200 sceneries for France.
There are still some more local websites waiting, so the next weeks won't be boring for me.
If you know some other local communities with a lot of sceneries, just contact me.
